Invitation – 2023 Ereignis Summer School

You are invited to join us for a week of seminars, workshops, and talks at the 2023 Ereignis Summer School. Designed to ease the transition from graduate study to professional engagement this summer school will help you write better essays, give more professional presentations, and increase your academic acumen. The summer school culminates in the 3rd Ereignis Conference, with an opportunity to present your paper. Our students are also invited to submit an essay to our peer-reviewed scholarly journal Inscriptions, giving you the chance to join the academic publishing curcuit.

Included in this offer:

A 9-hour academic seminar – equivalent to a semester-long (12 week) university module – in the Ereignis philosophy with an acclaimed international philosopher;
Two 9-hour workshops tailored to improve your academic writing and presentation skills. The workshops are hosted by Dr. Adam Staley Groves, an experienced academic tutor with wide international experience, and the award-winning film-maker Prof. Sharif Abdunnur;
Evening events with content geared to increase your interest and desire to pursure your philosophical and professional trajectory;

As a lead-in to the summer school we are hosting an on-line workshop with Dr. Adam Staley Groves on Zoom. Here you will learn more about effective academic writing, simple and powerful research techniques, and tricks of the academic trade. We encourage participants to bring with them the research and writing samples from the online workshop into the summer school sessions! Read more about Adam’s online workshop.

The summer school will take place in scenic Gdynia, beautifully located on the Baltic sea with short rides to beaches, forests, and restaurants. We offer good, inexpensive child-care solutions to those who want to bring families!

All participants will receive a course certificate.

These tentative rates are contingent on final confirmation from sponsors and administrators.

Online writing and research workshop with Dr. Adam Staley Groves and full participation at the 2023 Ereignis Summer School (one seminar and two workshops plus evening events) and participation at the 3rd Ereignis Conference: € 800;
Online workshop with Dr. Adam Staley Groves only: € 100;
Conference fee for the 3rd Ereignis Conference only: € 120.
