Three artists investigate the lived experience through science, play, ritual, and historical and futuristic reclamation.

Author Biography

Marjorie Vecchio, Self

Marjorie Vecchio is an independent curator and artist, as well as the former Director of Sheppard Fine Arts Gallery, University of Nevada, Reno and past President of Artemisia Gallery, Chicago. Since 1999, she has curated over 40 exhibitions, worked with over 250 artists, published 20 scholars, philosophers, writers and poets in 25 catalogues, and has written over 20 catalogue essays. She has taught MFA, BFA, BA and non-traditional students since 1998. Vecchio has degrees from Mount Holyoke College (BA), The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA), Bard College (MFA), and European Graduate School (PhD, Magna Cum Laude), where she studied with Professor Wolfgang Schirmacher. In 2009, she won the inaugural $25,000 Scholar-in-Residence award from Columbus State University (Georgia) to work on her book, The Films of Claire Denis: Intimacy on the Border (London: IB Tauris, 2014). She is currently directing her first feature-length documentary film.
